I absolutely adore this sunrise Burleson engagement shoot! I get a lot of engagement shoots in my inbox and I usually pass on most of them. But when I saw this engagement, I knew I had to feature it! The location of the lake and the fog in the atmosphere just make for an incredible backdrop. And can we discuss this bride-to-be--she's absolutely gorgeous! I see why her groom-to-be is absolutely smitten with her! The bride-to-be's sister just happens to be the genius behind Velvet Sage Photography, so of course she was the one to do the honors. Check out the gallery for even more breathtaking shots!

From Velvet Sage Photography...When your sister is getting married you give her a 2-hour engagement session and you kill it! Even though Elizabeth and Ian met while they were both working at Starbucks, she continually declines my advances for a small photo shoot there. Bummer! Well, it was a bummer until Monday morning. While I don't intend to give up on the Starbucks engagement dream, I was floored by what I was able to create for them instead.Ian proposed next to a tree on a nature walk they go to almost every day together (you will see it in this set), so we decided to head over there at sunrise on April 24th, 2017. We were greeted by the still quiet of nature and the majesty of fog on the water. The light was magic and must have been inspired by my sister and her fiance'. It glowed for us in the best way and we were able to create so much variety that morning. From playful to intimate, this session gives you a taste of every flavor of the morning light and the emotion that it inspires. While I don't want to say too much ( wedding speech and all), I do want to mention that I have never seen my sister so comfortably herself. I know she has self image issues just like the rest of us but I hope she sees herself the way Ian does when she looks deeper into these photos. At the very least, I hope she notices the way he looks at her in these images. That's a boy, lost in a girl.
