We have a stunning Spring country club wedding for you by Ashley K Photography (you may remember her stunning work featured here and here).  Held at the impressive Raveneaux Country Club, this bride and groom did what I love best-infused their personalities throughout their wedding celebration.  From their vibrant color scheme to their unique cake topper, this couple did their wedding their way.  When they look back at the photographs they will always see their special touch infused throughout the day.

From the Bride...The reception and the ceremony were both at the Raveneaux Country Club. We chose the Raveneaux because of its stunning ballroom and as soon as we saw the crystal chandelier and huge windows, we knew it was the place for us. We loved how the light hit the property and knew it was "us." We also loved the large terrace, which reminded us of the Newport Mansions in the Northeast. While going for a vintage inspired theme, we also wanted bright colors. Our colors were cobalt blue and orange for the bridesmaids, while I chose to accent with emerald jewelry and shoes. I had a very clear vision in my mind for flowers, I wanted to go with bright, lush flowers and chose orange zinnias, dahlias, and tulips for the bridesmaids bouquets. For my own bouquet, I went with a simple white bouquet of zinnias, dahlias, and chrysanthemums accented with jeweled rhinestones.

When it came to decorating the venue, I really wanted the crystal chandelier to shine in the ballroom, and opted for tons of candlelight to really set the mood for the evening. Everyone teased me over the amount of candles and holders that I bought to decorate the mantle in the ballroom, but when it was all lit up and glowing at night, the room looked magical. We also had uplighting in soft amber shades to soften the room. We knew we wanted a lot of color for the ceremony, but from Wickeearing two dresses that night. My husband's grandmother is very sick and was in a nursing home at the time, and thus unable to attend. In her honor, I wore her wedding dress which is almost sixty years old. It was a stunning satin dress from the 1940's.

Another way we displayed the vintage feel was to have old black and white pictures throughout the lobby of the country club and wanted the room to be vintage elegance for the reception. Thus, we chose royal blue satin linens, clear crystal napkin rings, and beautiful white flowers for the centerpieces. We did three different types of centerpieces for the reception, one tall, and two short to give depth to the room. We chose hydrangeas, chrysanthemums, zinnias, and dahlias for the centerpieces. The room was so cozy and made for such an intimate affair.

My husband and I really wanted for our theme to show thin the ballroom of old family photos and weddings. It was a huge hit as everyone loved seeing the old pictures. My bridesmaids also had vintage brooches on their bouquets, which were part of their gifts from us.

rough in our wedding, but not at the same time be an over the top theme that was overdone. We decided to have the theme show in the little details. For example, instead of a traditional guestbook we chose to have everyone sign vintage reproduction postcards which we had them place in a vintage mailbox. We also named each table after a world monument with a the monument silhouette on each table sign. We went for a more vintage glamour feel to the wedding with my vintage inspired dress, rolls royce for depard Whoopies out of Maine. Lastly, as an extra special touch, I did end up wture, and trolley to bring over the bridal party. The wedding topper for our cake were two small antique figurines in vintage cars, that my best friend who owns her own antique store found for me when I had told her of my hard time finding a cake topper that was "us." We also had for little details such as whoopie pie buffet (a favorite of my husband and father) of twelve different flavor whoopie pies from red velvet (a must at southern weddings) to orange creamsicle, which we orderedwe ordered from Wickeearing two dresses that night.
